ENDURO

Fast runs, wild trails, and memorable moments on every ride – that’s what Enduro is all about! Whether it’s with a full-face helmet in the bike park, a half-shell somewhere above the tree line or with a number plate in the start gate, the goal is always the same: GOOD TIMES!

When it was launched in 2014, the CAPRA changed the definition of the term Enduro with its outstanding performance at the races and in the bike park. The latest version of Enduro’s top dog has now become even lighter and stiffer. Additionally, the new CAPRA will impress both professionals and rookies alike thanks to a perfect mix of modern technology, state-of-the-art design, and incredible on-trail manners. The different wheel sizes and their individual characteristics were considered from the very beginning of the development, which led to the creation of two different frames, each tailor-made for their respective purposes. For the first time, both versions are available in size S, so that every CAPRA rider now has the choice between five different frame sizes.

PURPOSE BUILT FRAMES

29 or MX is not a question of belief – what matters is where and how the bike is used, and which features are given priority. To allow riders to get the most out of their bike in a category as broad and diversified as Enduro, it is not only the wheel size that differs between the two CAPRAs but also their frames and kinematics. The CAPRA MX is the first choice for those who like to rip it up in the bike park – for that reason it has shorter chainstays, which makes the bike more agile. At the same time, the rear triangle is more progressive to make sure that there are enough reserves to deal with bigger hits. On the other hand, the longer chainstays of the CAPRA 29 gives the bike better balance and helps it climb like a goat, although it’s not exactly capricious on the way back down either. For real. With its balanced progressivity, this is not just a racing machine but a full-on frenzy of speed on two wheels.

THIRSTMASTER 6000

With the asymmetrical wing of the new CAPRA it is now possible to mount a standard drinking bottle or the new Thirstmaster 6000 (620 ml) in the frame. Loss of stiffness and strength? Negative - smart engineering makes it possible! The Thirstmaster 6000 is supplied free of charge with every CAPRA order.

TOP TUBE RIVETS

The rivets on the bottom side of the top tube enable riders to attach spare tubes, tools, or a banana to the top tube with the help of a utility belt (not provided).

Flip chip

The new generation of CAPRA features a Flip Chip on both the MX and 29 builds, to allow you to adjust the geometry according to the terrain and your riding style. The Flip Chip eyelet can now be found on the shock yoke. The low position provides for a more aggressive headtube angle and lowers the BB, ideal for fast tracks. In the high position, the headtube angle is 0.3 degrees steeper and the BB is higher for more ground clearance and better performance on steep climbs.

Universal derailleur hanger

The CAPRA sports SRAM’s universal derailleur hanger which guarantees worldwide supply of spares. Sent it too hard? You should be able to find this part in any bike shop around the world.

BOOST STANDARD

To make sure that the CAPRA is compatible with the most recent and latest developments of drivetrain technology, the Boost standard was selected. It ensures sufficient tire clearance and spot-on frame stiffness while keeping the rear end narrower compared to the use of Super Boost.

Internal Cable Routing

For optimal protection, all cables are routed almost completely through the frame. Uninterrupted internal tubes provide for easy cable replacement and also help prevent unwanted noise. All the cable ports are sealed with cable plugs to prevent water and dirt ingress while a cable clamp on the seat tube prevents any unwanted cable slippage.

Chainsuck protection

The inconspicuous chain-suck plates protect the frame from damage caused by a dropped chain, keeping sensitive areas out of harm's way and prolonging the frame's durability.

HEADBOX

The head box is an iconic design element that adds stiffness to the head tube by widening the frame tubing in this area without causing it to become unproportional. It gives the bike the recognizable YT CAPRA look and allows for smooth and reliable cable routing.

ASYMMETRICAL WING DESIGN

The Wing is an essential feature of the CAPRA which adds stiffness and strength to the frame. The new generation is one-sided, enabling the same frame performance while creating space for the new Thirstmaster 6000 (free of charge) and most other standard water bottle sizes.

REDEFINED VOLUME

We shifted the optical weight and volume on the CAPRA MKIII from the top tube and seatstay towards the down tube and chainstay. Higher volumes in these areas generate more stiffness and lead to a better weight-to-stiffness ratio. Additionally, this creates a slacker, more dynamic bike.

TWO HIGH-QUALITY CARBON FRAMES

Ultra Modulus Carbon Frame (UM) The CAPRA Core 4 & Launch Edition both boast the lightest frame. Optimized carbon-fiber technology and state-of-the-art materials enable supreme performance while minimizing weight. This is possible by using a higher percentage of the more exclusive (ultra modulus) carbon fiber materials. High Modulus Carbon Frame (HM) The CAPRA Core 3 offers the high-level quality of a carbon frame with the best price-performance ratio. Precise steering, high durability, and similar stiffness and strength like our UM frames are made possible by using more HM layers in different areas of the frame. This adds a few grams but allows us to deliver all the benefits of a carbon frame at an ambitious price point.

Headtube

The full-carbon headtube comes with the ZeroStack headset standard. Besides a clean look, it ensures an optimized load transmission, a high level of durability and prevents the frame from wearing out.

NEW GEOMETRY

The steeper seat angle of the new CAPRA puts the rider in a centered seated position, making uphills even easier than before. At the same time, the head angle has been made slacker in order to increase the performance on heavy downhill runs. The reach has been extended accordingly, to allow the rider to easily shift his or her weight as required to adapt to any riding situation.

REFINED ANTI-SQUAT & ANTI-RISE

The CAPRA has never pedaled as well as the latest generation. Anti-squat has been optimized and anti-rise has been increased. The bike now accelerates better and the rear end reacts neutrally to braking or pedaling influences.

OPTIMIZED AXLE PATH

The axle path has been optimized and is rearward orientated on the new generation of the CAPRA. This improves the capability to roll over obstacles as well as rear-end responsiveness.

SIZE-RELATED CUSTOMIZATION OF REAR-END LENGTH

To ensure that taller riders experience the same balanced performance of the CAPRA, frame sizes XL & XXL have customized, longer seatstays, resulting in a longer rear end as a whole.

Virtual Four Link

Our award-winning V4L suspension technology provides sensitivity off the top, with good mid-stroke support and plenty of end-stroke progressivity. The nice pop helps get the bike airborne whenever you want, while the end-stroke progressivity makes sure the rear shock doesn’t bottom out even on monster jumps. The high amount of anti-squat keeps the rear suspension neutral and improves pedal efficiency.

Chainstay Protection

The silent chainstay protection is a novelty: the frame is protected from chain slap while the knobs reduce chain slap noise. All you’ll hear is the adrenaline rushing through your veins and your tires rolling over the trail.

Bearings

In addition to the double-sealed industrial bearings used, all pivot points are equipped with an additional seal to keep water and dirt at bay, this protects the bearings and extends their service life.

Protection

Made from super-tough and wear-resistant PA 66, the downtube protector is bolted on and can be easily replaced. It wraps around the bottom bracket and thus provides extra protection for the sidewalls of the downtube from impacts and scratches. Additionally, the rubber chainstay and seat stay guards help prevent unwanted noise from the drivetrain.

HEEL CLEARANCE

Increased heel clearance to reduce friction caused by the shoes rubbing on the frame while riding.

Our carbon frames deliver ideal stiffness and ultimate reliability at impressively low weight. Using a monocoque production technique, tube walls get extra thickness only where required, to resist the intense forces in critical areas. By using fibers of different strengths and optimizing the layup, we create stiff yet lightweight frames that withstand even the gnarliestof maneuvers.
